About Us
At Chicuelos Learning, every child is seen as a unique individual with their own space, strengths, and challenges. Our story began with a personal journey. When I was a child, I was told to follow templates and " to color within the lines." Years later, my own children faced similar experiences in traditional schools that didn't embrace their creativity, learning differences, or advanced skills. These moments sparked my commitment to create a learning space where every child feels valued, capable, and free to grow in their own way. With a professional background in Physical Therapy specializing in neurodivergent children, and with the guidance of my mother–a seasoned Spanish educator–I have built a program that blends cognitive development strategies, Montessori principles, and a bilingual Spanish-English curriculum.
Our Philosophy
We believe that learning is not one-size-fits-all. Every child deserves a nurturing environment where they are encouraged to explore, lead, and develop at their own rhythm. At Chicuelos, our mixed-age classroom (ages 3-5) allows children to learn from one another, fostering leadership, empathy, and collaboration. Advanced learners can dive deeper, while those needing more time are given the space and support to flourish.
Our Montessori-inspired approach focuses on hands-on learning and independence, while honoring each child’s individual path. We take the time to understand our students’ unique challenges and strengths, so we can guide them in building the confidence and skills they need to thrive—not just academically, but as resilient, joyful, and capable human beings.
At Chicuelos Preschool, children are not measured by how well they follow a template—but by how they grow as thinkers, problem-solvers, and kind leaders.
